Giving Football Back to Fans

Football is broken. Clubs are treated like corporate assets, traded by absentee owners with little connection to the communities they represent. Ticket prices rise, identity fades, and the people who care the most - the fans - have the least say in what happens on the pitch.

I’ve worked at the heart of one of London’s biggest tech unicorns and seen how technology can redefine industries. I believe it’s time for a new model in football: a club where fans aren’t just spectators; they’re decision-makers.

The Vision: Vota

We’re building Vota, a platform that gives fans a real, structured voice in how their club is run. Not just “fan polls”, real influence on real football.

Through the Vota app:

  • Fans vote on tactical approach, starting line-ups, and live substitutions during matches

  • Every vote and its outcome are measured - if the decision you backed proves to be the right call, you earn more influence (FanXP)

  • The smartest fans shape the team the most - meritocracy meets football passion

It’s a manager-led, fan-powered model. The coaching staff set the boundaries (to protect football integrity), fans make the calls within that framework, and the best decision-makers rise to the top.

The Plan: From the Bottom to Europe

We will buy a lower-division European club and take them to the top division and European competition within 5 years.

How?

  • £10/month membership funds the journey and filters for committed fans

  • Build the club like a content powerhouse - turning every big decision, promotion push, and rivalry win into global media moments

  • Combine subscription revenue, media rights, and sponsorship with strong owner investment to grow the playing budget year-on-year

If we do this right, we won’t just climb divisions. We will build the biggest brand in football - a club run like a tech and media startup, owned in spirit by its fans, with a story that captivates the world.
